Actions not showing in the activity tab in Lightning Experience

Ever wondered or ran into below issue where profile level settings restrict your activity component to not show up?

I had the same problem and below is how it was enabled / made visible.

Example Actions on my page layout:

• Log a Call
• New Event
• New Task

Navigate to setup=>Profiles=>General User Permissions and activate Edit Events and Edit Tasks.
